About Us  
Thank you for your interest in Aquatic Park School (APS) in Berkeley, California. Reggio Emilia We have been caring for children aged three months to five years since 1992, using a deliberate early childhood development method grounded in the Reggio Emilia Approach (See Philosophy section). Accredited On October 19, 2005, we were proud to receive accreditation from the National Association of Education for Young Children (NAEYC), in recognition of our high professional standards and commitment to serving young learners. APS has maintained the NAEYC accreditation ever since. Programs and Teachers APS provides a program for age-specific groups, adult/child interaction, shared creative play, and structured activities that promote the learning of social/emotional skills, verbal skills and self confidence. All APS teachers foster an environment of exploration, and the teachers strive to innovate throughout the school year. Learning and Play Spaces
APS facilities include classrooms, and a gated, supervised playground. The learning and play areas are well maintained. Children also enjoy the variety of outdoor plant and garden projects and the large communal fountain that connects the classroom and playground spaces. Schedule Weekly activity schedules include walking trips, bike days, barefoot days, share days, extreme sandbox play, and sports. In addition to the regular programs, after care is available until 6pm, and a variety of enrichment classes may be added to your child's schedule. Teachers and Parents We provide a safe, loving, nurturing school experience for your child or your children. Our goal is simple: to help raise confident and happy learners. We believe that this growth happens most successfully between parents and teachers and the larger community. We honor each family as unique and valuable members of the APS family. We are committed to seeking solutions collectively. This is why we attach such importance to parents’ input, and respect and encourage open communication between parents and educators. Location APS is conveniently located near the Ashby entrance to the I-80 highway in Berkeley, and just two blocks from the new, second Berkeley Bowl whole foods store.
